Ever since Nick was five-years-old, he has loved the Denver Broncos and when Peyton Manning joined the team, it was a done deal. Thanks to the Denver Broncos, in October, his dream to meet Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos came true.
Nick woke up bright and early to fly to Denver, CO. He and his family members, Rhonda, Gary, and Zach went to the Broncos Training Facility to get a behind the scenes tour and watch the end of practice. On his wish day, Nick got to meet his favorite player, Peyton Manning. He got to take a photo with Manning and receive an autographed football. Nick and his family also had a private tour of Sports Authority Field. On the last day, he got to see his favorite player in action. He attended the Broncos football game as they played the Arizona Cardinals, final score 41-20.
Nick’s favorite part of the trip was seeing Peyton Manning walk toward him saying his name and signing his jersey. His mother said, “Nick was in total shock when Peyton Manning put his arm around him and said, ‘Here Nick, Let me sign your jersey’ and Nick was excited he received an official practice jersey.” The Broncos team was attentive and amazing. Nick’s mother said Manning was “neat and a great guy.”
The Broncos won their game that day, but the real winner in that stadium was Nick. He is fighting the battle with a germ cell tumor. His lifelong wish came true, and he has hope for an amazing future. Nick ended his trip full of smiles, an autograph, and memories that would last a lifetime. Nick is now 14 and is from Spearfish.
His wish was made possible by an anonymous donor. Thank you also to
