Dannika, 7, of Bryant along with her family celebrated Make-A-Wish® South Dakota’s 1,000th wish when they boarded a plane February 13 at the Sioux Falls Airport for Hollywood where Dannika’s wish of meeting the cast of her favorite TV show came true.
As a sendoff and celebration, a number of Make-A-Wish volunteers, staff and board members were on hand to surprise her with signs and balloons. She was also surprised to be welcome by local TV and newspaper reporters, who treated her like a celebrity!
Dannika faces cystic fibrosis, which qualified her for
Make-A-Wish. Her father, Shaine, was familiar with
Make-A-Wish. W.W. Tire is a long-standing Driving For Dreams® partner with Make-A-Wish, but he said he never imagined one of his kids would receive a wish.
Accompanied by her parents, two brothers and sister, Dannika enjoyed her time in Los Angeles, including time at Universal Studios and the American Doll Store. During the time on the set of Disney Channel’s Good Luck Charlie, Dannika had the chance to meet and visit with all of her favorite characters.
Dannika’s wish was made possible by Disney and Redlinger Brothers Plumbing and Heating in Watertown.
Thank you for granting my wish.
