Auston was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of one, and for the past ten years, he has endured many medical complications. Today Austin has a nervous system disorder and scoliosis. The 11-year-old from Colman found out he was going to receive a wish and he chose to travel to Florida to meet the Miami Dolphins and their quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
Auston made a trip to the Dolphins training facility where he received his own locker and jersey. He spent the day with the team and quickly made friends with each player on the team. Auston and Ryan Tannehill played catch, ate lunch together, and Auston gave him a “Team Auston” t-shirt. On game day Auston high-fived each teammate as they made their way to the field.
It’s a wish that turns out to be a big win for everyone.
Auston’s wish was made possible by gifts in memory of Vince & Mary Spader and Rebekah Spader. Special thanks to Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida for their help in granting Auston’s wish.
