Due to her medical condition, Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Kallie must undergo numerous and difficult treatments. Kallie's wish was granted for her and her family to travel to Hawaii. She was able to finally relax, be with her family and have fun being a kid without the constant stress of medical treatments.
At a young age of 9, Kallie has experienced more hardship than most children experience throughout their entire childhood or their entire adult lives. Wish parents, Brenda and David and family live in New Underwood and are parents to five children, including Kallie. She has two sisters, Shaylee and Shawnee, and two brothers, Wylie and Cody. Her family has also experienced many difficult times because of Kallie's condition and the numerous treatments required.
However, despite difficult times, Kallie as well as her family have remained strong and kept a positive attitude. Having such a large family, finding time for everyone to be together and relax can be very challenging. Above all else, Kallie wanted to go to Hawaii for some quality family time and to learn how to surf. Make-A-Wish® South Dakota granted Kallie's wish to go to Hawaii. She and her family were able to have a stress free trip and also were able to relax and enjoy time together. Her wish came true in June and she was also able to go horseback riding, enjoy the ocean and see many sights.
Kallie's wish was made possible by Adopt-A-Wish partners, Toyota of the Black Hills, Rapid Chevrolet Cadillac and Christmas At The Western Mall.
