On an average day, Ellis can be found cozied up on the couch, watching one of his favorite movies—most likely Indiana Jones or Star Wars. His wish to spend quality time with his family on a beach, however, turned his couch into a beach chair and his television screen into a beautiful view of crystal-clear waters.
It was at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas that Ellis’ mother, Lori, realized how much their family needed a break from hospital visits. “We didn’t know how tired, overwhelmed, and wounded we were until we got away, where we could enjoy each other and nature with no worries,” she commented.
The resort provided Ellis, his mother, and his two brothers with the opportunity to sit back, relax, and soak up all the sunshine that the Bahamas had to offer them. They also kept busy by swimming with dolphins, walking across sandy beaches, and snorkeling with brightly-colored fish.
Ellis remembers his wish adventure as his chance to get away from his treatments in Sioux Falls and make long-lasting memories with his family in a place he had never been before. “Thank you for finding light in a dark situation,” Ellis shared.
Thank you to everyone who made Ellis’ wish come true, including Holmes Murphy & Associates in Sioux Falls for adopting his wish.
