Make-A-Wish grants a wish during annual fundraiser

Make-A-Wish hosted its 5th annual Walk for Wishes in downtown Rapid City Saturday. About 700 participants walked a mile and a quarter, and raised $65,000, toward granting wishes. A wish costs on average $7,000 per child, and one lucky child had their wish granted Saturday at the event. Four-year-old Grace Snyder received a two-story playhouse with a balcony built by Black Hills Home Builders volunteers.

Making a wish come true doesn't have to happen after blowing out your candles. Hundreds of people were walking for wishes around downtown today. The event started at Main Street Square and those attending walked around downtown to raise money for Make-A-Wish South Dakota. This is the fifth year Walk for Wishes has been around.
